A doctor dancing on TikTok: a modern image or a loss of trust?

I have never danced on TikTok or “vibed” to music in the operating room. Videos of colleagues in white coats acting out “a typical patient” collect millions of views. I am not a moralist and I understand we live in the age of algorithms, but I have one question…

How do I face the parents of a special-needs child, or a patient with a serious diagnosis, if an hour ago the whole internet watched me clowning around in front of a camera in that very same room?

Medicine begins with trust. It is a fragile thing that takes years to build and one bad trend to destroy.

In 2026 doctors want to be visible, and that is great: we take away the fear of the white coat, we give useful information, we reassure. But where is the line? You can be a popular professional — or you can turn a surgical cap into a clown's hat.
